BHI to apply STAMP to Virginia |
from NewsLink, Vol. 3, No. 4, Summer 1999
BHI will enhance its State Tax Analysis Modeling Program for application to Virginia. Virginia STAMP will estimate the effects of tax-law changes on selected economic indicators. The model will be constructed using original data specific to Virginia.
Virginia STAMP will permit the Thomas Jefferson Institute for Public Policy in Springfield, VA to determine whether a proposed tax-law change will create or destroy jobs, how payrolls will be affected and how the amount of capital stock (equipment, computers and other materials needed for production) will be affected. In other words, is a proposed tax-law change good or bad for Virginia?
Virginia STAMP should be completed and running by the end of the year.
