HOSPITAL'S ECONOMIC IMPACT Quincy Medical Center says the results of a recent economic impact study shows the hospital annually generates $26.8 million in local economic activity, including $10 million in Quincy. The study, conducted by the Beacon Hill Institute, analyzed where hospital employees live and spend their earnings and the percentage of these purchases that are made locally. The Beacon Hill Institute also evaluated the dollars that Quincy Medical Center spends directly in the community buying goods and services from area businesses. The study, which focused exclusively on Norfolk County and the city of Quincy, showed that the hospital's economic activity created 394 jobs in Norfolk County, including 123 in Quincy, since 1999.
